I unboxed my Starbucks dark-roast Espresso Roast Original pod, and it had a navy blue color. It was compatible with Nespresso Original-Line machines, so I brewed it with my Gran Lattissima machine. My 1.35 oz espresso shot had a thin crema layer, and its color indicated an intensity level of 11. I got a sweet, pleasant, and strong aroma reminiscent of molasses and caramelized sugar. I took a sip, and rich molasses and caramel sugar notes graced my palate. It was an interesting coffee cup having both sweet and intense notes. The bitter notes spread across the middle of my tongue. I loved dark roasts, so it was best for me.
In the next shot, I made iced coffee with this pod. I filled the glass with ice cubes, frothed the milk, poured it over the ice, and brewed a Starbucks dark-roast Espresso shot directly over it.
