I am a sophisticated coffee lover; I grind whole fresh coffee beans on my own, as fresh ground coffee has a delicate flavor and premium aromas. I do latte art on my drinks as a perfect coffee cup is my top priority, and Breville Bambino has fulfilled all of these tantrums and needs. After some time, I replaced Barista Express with its premium version, i.e., Breville Bambino Plus, as I want to experience more advanced features and a wide variety of drinks. My experience with this machine was amazing.
I shifted my apartment, and during that, the water reservoir of Breville Bambino Plus broke down and started to leak. Now, I had to replace it. One of my friends suggested the Essenza Mini; it was a compact machine but lacked a frother, so I rejected it. I thought about French Press, — AeroPress, — Moka Pot, and Percolators, but it lacks a grinder and a frother. I also thought about drip coffee makers and Keurig coffee makers, but they can’t brew high-quality espresso, and I also did not drink long coffee.
I searched for things independently, and the Nespresso Lattissima series impressed me greatly. But I just bought a new apartment, and my new Bambino Plus broke down, and I did not have enough budget. So, I thought I would buy a machine for temporary use, and when my budget gets stable, I will buy a premium model. So, I found myself favoring the Nespresso Expert. It was a discontinued model, so I bought it at a low price for temporary use.
When I used it and brewed drinks with it, its advanced features and coffee settings delivered great drinks and gave me a spectacular experience. Here is my personalized content, which depicts my experience with this splendid brewer.
The Bottom Line
With 15” width, 37 oz water reservoir, and 10 lbs weight, Nespresso Expert is one of the premium models of Nespresso machines. It offers four brew sizes, Wi-Fi connectivity, unique design, programmable brewing time, and ten spent capsule capacity. Unfortunately, it is a discontinued model. OriginalLine machines: These machines use powerful 19 bars pressure and extract the perfect flavor and premium aromas from OriginalLine Nespresso Pods. They deliver fantastic espresso shots with dense crema. These machines are compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine pods and third-party Nespresso pods and are best for those who drink coffee regularly.
VertuoLine machines use the Centrifusion technique, scan the pod barcode, spin the pods at 7000 RPM, and pull the desired shot. These machines work well with VertuoLine pods only, but after the Nespresso and Starbucks partnership, they are also compatible with Starbucks by Nespresso Vertuoline pods. — VertuoLine machines are best for those who drink coffee now and then.

Nespresso Expert Overview
Nespresso Expert machine offers many modern features such as;

Unfortunately, it lacks a milk frother. If you want to brew milk beverages, buy a standalone Aeroccino4 milk frother or a CitiZ & Milk or Lattissima model. It comes in two models;

Nespresso Expert, designed by DeLonghi, is paired with Aeroccino3 frother and allows you to brew a wide variety of milk beverages. It has an aluminum finish, maintenance alerts, wireless connectivity, and a one-touch capsule re-order system.

My black Nespresso Expert machine offers a unique design with a cutting-edge flat-to-the-wall shape inspired by the world of the barista. The aluminum finish gave it a modern look. Its design is very simple; it has a 37 oz water reservoir and two rotating dials; one is a temperature control dial, and the second controls the cup size manually. It has one button with which the machine is turned on, and the brewing process is initiated. The hot water outlet helped me to brew Americano (espresso + hot water) easily. In short, Nespresso Expert has an aesthetically pleasing design.
Drink Types & Quality — Splendid Nespresso Americano
When I brewed a drink with a Nespresso Expert, the quality of the beverages was amazing. I filled the tank with freshwater, pressed the start button, and the machine took 25 seconds to heat up. After this, I inserted the coffee capsule, placed the cup under the coffee outlet, turned the dial to the selected cup size (espresso), adjusted the temperature, and pressed the start button. The machine extracted the perfect flavor and aroma from the Nespresso capsules and delivered me a perfect cup of drink with dense crema. If you want to brew Americano or tea, the machine will also dispense hot water for a longer, mild coffee experience. The machines offer the following brew sizes;
- Ristretto —- 0.85 oz
- Espresso —- 1.35 oz
- Lungo —- 3.70 oz
- Americano —- 5.05 oz
- Hot water —- 6.75 oz
If you want to brew latte, cappuccino, etc., pair it with the standalone one-touch Aeroccino3 or four milk frother, or buy a Nespresso Expert & Milk designed by DeLonghi.
Settings—- Nespresso App
The new Nespresso Expert machine can easily connect with the Nespresso app. You can do everything with the app that you normally do on the machine. The Nespresso app allows you to personalize your brew sizes and will alert you when the capsule container is full, descaling is needed, or an empty water tank. I also find it easier to run the machine from the app. The app also allows you to set a timer for the next shot and customize the volume and temperature of the drink.
Capsules—– Nespresso Capsules
I brewed my drink with OriginalLine Nespresso pods, and the drink’s quality, texture, body, and taste were beyond anything. I also tried 3rd-party Nespresso capsules, and the machine delivered the same sumptuous drink as delivered with Nespresso OriginalLine pods. Unfortunately, Nespresso Expert does not work with VertuoLine pods and Starbucks by Nespresso Vertuo Pods. If you want to brew long coffees with VertuoLine pods, search out one of the VertuoLine machines.
Can You Use Your Own Ground Coffee In Nespresso Expert?
Nespresso Atelier allows you to use reusable/refillable pods filled with your desired pre-ground coffee. You can use reusable stainless steel Nespresso pods if you have a grinder and want to grind your preferred whole beans.

Before buying, I searched for the Nespresso Expert on many online stores. Its price is $399.99 on Amazon, $379.95 on William Sonoma, and $339 on eBay. I bought this machine from Amazon, which is quite a trustworthy and reliable site. I found the Nespresso Expert quite affordable as it has many features, a versatile level of settings, intuitive maintenance LED alerts, and offers a wide range of drinks.
Nespresso Expert Problems
- If you don’t clean the machine, its nozzle will clog, and the machine will stop working.
- The coffee will come out slowly if you don’t descale the machine.
- If your coffee is not hot enough, preheat the cup. Still, the problem persists; descale it.
- If you face any issues regarding brewing, get simplified machine assistance through the Nespresso club.
Extra Features
- The connected Nespresso machine allows you to choose your coffee preferences or to create personalized coffees.
- The two separate fluid lines allow you to mix coffee and hot water to create personalized coffees (longer coffees).
