Nespresso Original-Line Decaffeinato Intenso Pod Taste Test

I unboxed my Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso capsule, and its maroon color made it fascinating. It was an Original pod, so I brewed it with my Nespresso Lattissima One machine. My 1.35 oz espresso had a very pleasant aroma. I got a rich chocolatey scent, and its color indicated an intensity of 7. I folded the dense crema and took a sip of my dark roast coffee. The rich chocolatey notes graced my palate. The high intensity and bitterness hinted at the presence of Robusta beans. My drink was full-bodied and had mild acidity. No caffeine, strong flavor, perfect morning blend!

However, when I added milk to this dark coffee, my drink became more smooth and creamy. The hint of cereal notes touched the back of my tongue, and the sweet caramel flavor mellowed its intensity. Overall, it stood well with milk.

In this, a selection of South American Arabicas enhanced with a touch of Robusta adds a rich and intense flavor to the coffee. It is best for those who like intense and bitter coffee in the morning. Nespresso OriginalLine Decaffeinato Intenso Pod Features — An In-Depth Insight

Origin — South American Arabica And Robusta Beans

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso capsules blend South American Arabicas with a touch of Robusta coffee beans. These beans add a rich and intense flavor to the coffee.

Roasting Level — 5 out of 5

In Nespresso Original Decaffeinato Intenso, the coffee beans undergo short and intense roasting. It develops toasted notes and reinforces the body of this intense decaffeinated espresso.

This Original pod is quite similar to the Nespresso capsules VertuoLine Decaffeinato Intenso. In this, South American Arabicas with a touch of Robusta beans subtly blend to create harmony, releasing cocoa and fruity notes.

Aroma — Cocoa Scent

The robust chocolatey aroma soothed my mind when I brewed decaf Intenso coffee. The rich aroma was noticeable in the crema and the coffee.

Acidity — 1 out of 5

My Intenso decaf coffee had mild acidity. The low acidic bite balanced its aroma and intense flavor profile and made my cup enjoyable.

Bitterness — 3 out of 5

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso delivered me a bitter decaf coffee. The rich bitter notes covered the edge of my mouth; however, these notes were pleasant and did not make my drink harsh. The grilled and chocolate notes with an intense body reminded me of the regular blend or Vertuo double espresso capsules.

Body — 3 out of 5

I took a sip of my intense decaffeinated espresso and found it full-bodied. The short and intense roasting develops its body. The thick crema, smooth mouthfeel, dense body, and well-balanced flavor profile did not make me feel that I was drinking a decaf blend.

Flavor — Cocoa And Roasted Cereals

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso delivered me a strong espresso. The subtle notes of cocoa and toasted cereals danced on my palate and refreshed my mind. The dense body left thickness in my mouth. The perfect marriage of South American Arabicas with a touch of Robusta beans stirs up the flavors and underlines the blend’s strength. Adding milk establishes a new balance of flavors and makes the drink creamy.

After taking the last sip, the mild chocolatey notes stayed for a long time on my tongue. My drink was full-bodied, well-balanced, and lingering. Its incredible aromatic and flavor profile urged me to brew another cup and made my morning awesome.

This Original pod is quite similar to the Nespresso capsules VertuoLine Decaffeinato Intenso. In this, South American Arabica, with a touch of Robusta beans, subtly blends to create harmony, releasing cocoa and fruity notes.
