Spread the love

Here is our review of Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato. We brewed and tested this lavish Nespresso pod and decided to share our honest reviews.

Bottom Line

With less than 12 mg, Altissio Decaffeinato is best for those who dislike caffeine in their drinks. It blends Latin American and Costa Rican Arabicas with Brazilian Robusta beans. It soothes your tongue with thick and velvety crema. It delivered a bold and full-bodied espresso shot with a chocolatey aroma and hits your palate with a creamy cereal note.

What Does Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato Taste Like?

The Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato Vertuo pod has a lovely royal purple color with a red ring indicating decaffeination. I brewed Altissio Decaffeinato with my VertuoPlus Deluxe, and its color indicated that it is a high intensity capsule. When I took a sip, I found it light, not full-bodied or heavy. But I found a hint of acidity and much bitterness. I like bitter coffee, so it was best for me. I enjoyed the drink a lot.

I frothed the 2 oz milk with Aeroccino frother and brewed Altissio Decaffeinato coffee over it. The drink looked cool. When I tasted it, I was surprised, the bitterness faded, and I got roasted cocoa notes. The drink’s flavor was pleasant, and I must say the Altissio stood up with milk very well.

So, Altissio Decaffeinato delivers smooth and pleasant drinks. This Nespresso coffee is made from highly roasted Arabica Coffee from Costa Rica and South America for smooth espresso coffee. All decaffeinated, the taste of the highly roasted Altissio Decaffeinato is true to the original and cloaked in creamy royal robes. The well-balanced, smooth texture has balanced its acidity and body. Enjoy hot or pour over ice; Altissio Decaffeinato never disappoints you and always delivers smooth espresso coffee.

10 Major Features Of Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato

I focused on 11 notable features of Nespresso Vertuo Altissio Decaffeinato; these features differentiate it from all other Nespresso VertuoLine pods. Also, these features help me to know how Costa Rica originated Altissio Decaffeinato is different from Brazilian-originated Nespresso pods. The aroma, well-balanced smooth texture, body, intensity, and drink quality of Altissio Decaffeinato help me to understand whether I take this creamy and intense drink in the morning, noon, or evening and whether I enjoy it in autumns, springs, summers, or winters. Let’s have a complete insight into these features.

Origin — Nespresso Coffee Blend (Arabica And Robusta)

Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato is a blend of short and dark roasted American and Costa Rica Arabica and Brazilian Robusta beans. The full-bodied and bold espresso taste comes from blending Latin American Arabicas with Robusta.

Roasting Level — 3 out of 5

Like Altissio, Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato Vertuo pod is an intense and short roast of American and Costa Rica Arabica and Brazilian Robusta beans. When Altissio Decaffeinato walks in you, you will notice that the Costa Rican Arabica adds its soft cereal notes. This Nespresso coffee blend is intensely and shortly roasted to reveal the full-bodied character of this bold blend with a well-balanced smooth texture.

Aroma — 4 out of 5

When I brewed Vertuo Altissio Decaffeinato dark roast espresso, its cereal roasted and chocolatey aroma spread all over the space. When I took a sip, the soft and creamy cereal notes hit my palate and let my thoughts wander in a chocolatey world.

Acidity — 1 out of 5

Altissio Decaffeinato delivered me an intense, smooth, and creamy espresso shot at once. The drink is bold & full-bodied with dense and velvety crema. It has no harshness and possesses mild tang-like acidity.

Bitterness — 3 out of 5

When I brewed Altissio Decaffeinato dark roast espresso, the first sip hinted at malty and baggy notes. In contrast, the chocolatey and soft cereal notes hit my tongue and palate in the other sip. Besides this, I liked the winey and candied notes of Nespresso Toccanto

Body — 3 out of 5

Altissio Decaffeinato delivered me a smooth, creamy, and intense espresso shot. The thick, velvety crema sat luxuriously on my tongue and soothed my throat. When I took sip after sip of it, the baggy, malty, and chocolatey notes hit my palate. I drank the whole cup of Altissio Decaffeinato dark roast espresso and didn’t feel it heavy.

Caffeine content — Less Than 12 mg

Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato is similar to Nespresso Altissio in almost all aspects except that Altissio has 50-60 mg caffeine while Altissio Decaffeinato has less than 12 mg caffeine.

Flavor — Cereal Roasted And Chocolatey

Altissio Decaffeinato brews a creamy and intense coffee cup. When I took the first sip, the rich roasted cereal hit my palate, but I felt a malty and chocolatey flavor on my tongue in another sip. The creamy texture has balanced its body and compelled me to demand cup after cup.

Intensity — 9 out of 11

The consistency of the body, the richness of the flavor and, above all, the strength of the aroma shows the intensity of a coffee drink. Nespresso Altissio Decaffeinato is a blend of dark roasted Latin American and Costa Rican Arabicas with Brazilian Robusta beans, best for coffee lovers. It soothed my mind with a velvety-textured espresso shot and soft cereal, chocolatey, baggy, and malty notes due to high intensity.

Finish — chocolatey and malty sweetness

When I finished the Altissio Decaffeinato dark roast espresso, I felt bitterness slightly in the end, but later on, it changed into chocolatey sweetness. Most people dislike Nespresso brewers and capsules as they think they have to throw the pods after one use, which is a wasteful act and damages the environment. Nespresso solved this problem and offered a Pods Recycling Program. Nespresso aluminum capsules are fully recyclable and guarantee coffee freshness. Nestle invested over $1.2 million and upgraded New York City’s recycling facilities. If you are a resident of New York City, you can directly dispense your used Aluminum Coffee Pods into the recycling bin/bag to recycle them. However, If you are not a New York City resident, you must order a recycling bag from Nespresso; the company ships the bag free, accommodating 200 used Aluminum Coffee Pods. Fill the recycling bag with used Nespresso Aluminum capsules and store it in the freezer to prevent it from smelling.
