Here is my honest review of Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso. I brewed intense espresso shots with this Vertuo pod and decided to share its remarkable features.

Bottom Line

With less than 12 mg, Decaffeinato Intenso is best for those who dislike caffeine in their drinks. It is an intense blend of Colombian and Brazilian Arabica with Asian Robusta beans. This intense blend creates harmony, delivers a fruity aroma, and hits your palate with cocoa roasted and malty notes.

What Does Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso Taste Like? — Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso Taste Test

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso Vertuo pod has a cherry red color, and I found it fascinating. Well, I brewed a VertuoLine machine. The drink had a lot of crema on the top, and the color indicated it had 6 intensity. It smelled like a good coffee cup, and its first impression was pretty good. The malted cereal notes were coming through it, and I felt a syrupy texture on my tongue. I also felt a bit of an acidic bite. The bitter notes touched my tongue and made my day.

Anyhow, I also tried Decaffeinato Intenso with milk. I frothed the milk and added it to the Decaffeinato Intenso coffee. When I took a sip, its flavor was reminiscent of fresh nuts. I felt a bit of malty notes, but overall, both drinks had the same flavor. Decaffeinato Intenso stood very well with the milk.

Decaffeinato Intenso delivers intense and full-bodied espresso shots. The smooth and creamy texture balances its acidity and intense body and always surprises you with its hidden strength.

10 Major Features of Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso

I focused on 10 striking features of Decaffeinato Intenso; these characteristics differentiate it from all other Nespresso Vertuo pods. These help me know how Brazilian-originated Decaffeinato Intenso differs from Nicaraguan-originated Nespresso capsules. The aroma, body, texture, intensity, and drink quality of Decaffeinato Intenso help me to understand whether I take this dense and harmonious coffee in the morning or evening and whether I enjoy it in summer, autumn, or winter. Let’s have a complete insight into these notable features.

Origin — Colombian and Brazilian Arabica with Asian Robusta beans

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso is an intense blend of South Colombian, unwashed Brazilian Arabica, and Asian Robusta beans. The South American Arabicas enhanced cocoa and fruity notes, while Asian Robusta beans result in dense and full-bodied espresso shots.

Roasting Level — 3 out of 5

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso is a combination of dark and mild roasted beans. A short and intense roasting develops its toasted notes and reinforces its body. Roast level strongly affects the coffee’s acidity. Dark roast gives your coffee a candied flavor, while medium or light roast gives a juicy and fruity flavor. In the case of Decaffeinato Intenso, I got both flavors. The dark roasted Colombian and Brazilian Arabica beans created harmony and gave fruity and cocoa notes, while medium roasted Asian Robusta beans preserved coffee freshness and gave fruity notes to my espresso shot.

Aroma — Very rich aroma

When I brewed Decaffeinato Intenso coffee, its cocoa roasted and fruity aroma spread all around. When I got closer to the cup, its aroma hinted at South American Arabicas and Asian Robusta beans. When I took a sip, the dense crema and creamy texture sat luxuriously on my tongue, the chocolatey, baggy, and subtle notes hit my palate, and I let my thoughts wander in a musical and chocolatey world.

Acidity — 1 out of 5

Acidity is one of authentic coffee’s misunderstood attributes. Acidity adds brightness and dimensions to your coffee. Your drink can be tang-like, mild, or lemon-like acrid. Decaffeinato Intenso delivered me an intense, harmonious, dense, and creamy drink. The espresso shot is bold & full-bodied, has no bitterness, delivers fruity and chocolate notes, and possesses mild tang-like acidity.

Bitterness — 3 out of 5

When I brewed Decaffeinato Intenso coffee and took a sip, the rich cocoa & cereal roasted notes hit my palate. After taking one sip, I felt like I was walking through cereal fields.

Each coffee cup has a unique flavor; you can quickly identify whether it has fresh fruit, honey, or caramel-like sweetness. However, Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso delivered me an intense, full-bodied, and creamy espresso shot simultaneously. The Dark roasted South American Arabicas with a touch of Robusta bring out the subtle cocoa and roasted cereal notes to this decaffeinated espresso.

Body — 3 out of 5

This image showcases the "Body" of Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso VertuoLine Pod for our review.

The body is the weight of coffee that you feel on your tongue. You feel light (brewed with skim or low-fat milk) or heavy (brewed with whipped cream/whole milk). Decaffeinato Intenso is a Vertuo pod and brewed with only Nespresso VertuoLine machines. OriginalLine machines deliver heavy, while VertuoLine machines deliver light and smooth drinks. I found the creamy texture of Decaffeinato Intenso smooth and luxurious on my tongue. When I took sip after sip of it, the creamy texture soothed my throat, and malty, fruity, baggy, and chocolatey notes hit my palate. I drank the whole cup and didn’t feel it heavy at all.

Caffeine content — Less Than 12 mg

The image illustrates "Caffeine Content" in Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso VertuoLine Pod for the "Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso Review" article.

Like Altissio Decaffeinato, Decaffeinato Intenso has a very low caffeine content and is best for those who dislike caffeine in their drinks. When I measured it in my lab, I found less than 12 mg caffeine. Still, with a low caffeine content, it delivered intense and full-bodied espresso shots.

Flavor — Rich And Intense Flavor

Decaffeinato Intenso brewed dense and harmonious espresso shots. The Dark roasted South American Arabicas with a touch of Robusta add a rich and intense flavor to the coffee. When I took my first sip, I felt cocoa and fruity flavor, but the malty and baggy notes hit my palate in another sip. The creamy texture balanced its body and acidity and compelled me to demand sip and cup after cup. In the same I liked the winey and candied flavor of Nespresso Toccanto

Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso is a blend of dark-roasted Colombian and Brazilian Arabica beans and medium-roasted Asian Robusta beans. Intensity means the level of bitterness and acidity in your coffee. More bitterness means more intensity. Decaffeinato Intenso coffee has high intensity as dark and medium roast creates harmony and hits my palate with cocoa roasted, malty, baggy, and fruity notes.

Finish — fruity and malty

If you start your day with a perfect coffee cup, its intensity and bold flavors will remain in your mind. Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso delivered me such a memorable drink. The shot was smooth and lingering when I brewed this remarkable Vertuo pod. When I finished it, I felt bitterness slightly in the end, but later on, it changed into a chocolatey note. My mind preserved its fruity aroma, dense crema, roasted cereal, and baggy taste. Whenever I am reminded of this decaf coffee, I want to brew and drink a bold cup of Nespresso Decaffeinato Intenso.
