I am a coffee enthusiast, and my life is incomplete without a perfect cup of coffee. I used the Starbucks coffee shop and fulfilled my caffeine consumption along with pastries and cheesecake. Although, it is tiresome to rush to a coffee shop in the morning and expensive as well. Then I decided I would buy a coffee maker and brew my coffee on my own. I have no experience in this field, so I start at a low level. I tried French Press, — AeroPress, — Moka Pot, and Percolators. When things became handy, I bought a Breville Barista Express. It allows me to grind my whole fresh beans on my own with an integrated grinder and brew milk-based beverages with an integrated frother in the comfort of my home. My experience with this machine was amazing. After some time, when it started to cause problems, I replaced it with its premium version, i.e., Breville Oracle Touch. Its advanced features have increased my experience and amazed me with many Barista-style recipes. I also thought of replacing the Oracle Touch with a Keurig coffee maker, but I am not fond of long coffees, so I did not focus on it. At that time, I thought nothing was beyond the Breville Oracle Touch, but I was wrong.
I visited my friend for personal reasons; she brewed two coffee cups, one was a rich and full-bodied espresso shot, and the other was a perfect latte. I thought she also had a premium and expensive coffee maker as I have. But when I went to her kitchen, I saw a small machine on the countertop. When asked, she told me that this is one of the affordable Nespresso machines, i.e., Nespresso Lattissima One. I searched for its features, and its features, settings, and drink quality has urged me to buy this machine. I am also okay with its small water reservoir (34 oz) as I did not have a large family to cater to.

Nespresso Machines Overview
Nespresso offers two lines; OriginalLine and VertuoLine
OriginalLine machines: These machines extract the perfect flavor and premium aromas from OriginalLine Nespresso Pods with its powerful 19 bars pressure and deliver fantastic espresso shots with dense crema. These machines are compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine pods and third-party Nespresso pods and are best for those who drink coffee regularly.
VertuoLine machines: These machines use the Centrifusion technique, scan the pod barcode and spin the pods at high speed, i.e., 7000 RPM, to pull the desired shot. These machines work well with VertuoLine pods only, but after the Nespresso and Starbucks partnership, they are also compatible with Starbucks by Nespresso Vertuoline pods. — VertuoLine machines are best for those who drink coffee now and then.

I ordered the machine at Amazon, which arrived within 3-5 business days. When I unboxed the machine, its elegant design impressed me a lot. With a 4oz milk receptacle, durable milk jug, and 34 oz water reservoir, Lattissima One is the best single-serve Nespresso machine. It is best for espresso lovers and for those who want a milky treat once in a while.
Design— Robust And Sleek Design
When I ordered this machine, I was a little scared about whether it would fit in my kitchen or not as my kitchen is quite small. However, Lattissima One’s compact machine makes it easy to fit on my kitchen countertop. I also have no problem moving it all around as it is lightweight (9.3 lbs). It is available in three bold colors; Porcelain White/silky white, shadow black, and brown. I ordered the machine in silky white as it is compatible with my kitchen decoration. The movable cup support, chrome lever, matte line patterns, & subtle gloss design increase its beauty and make it elegant, unique, and modern.
Easy To Use— No Mess & No Waste
Lattissima One is a hassle-free model and is easy to use and clean. I thought I should consult the user manual or other youtube videos to understand how it works. But thanks to the Nespresso capsule system, I simply insert the capsule, press the desired drink button, and the machine does the rest on its own. Amazingly, the one-touch fresh milk system allows me to brew cappuccino and latte macchiato without froth, milk quantity, and water temperature adjustments. I insert the capsule, fill the milk receptacle with enough milk, press the cappuccino button, and the machine delivers the splendid drink with dense froth within a few seconds.
Water Tank — Small And Removable
Lattissima One has a 34 oz water reservoir and allows you to brew 7-9 espresso shots without refilling. It has a square-shaped design and is attached to the back of the machine. This quantity also benefits me as I do not have a large family to cater to. If this quantity is insufficient to meet your needs, search out machines with large water reservoirs such as Lattissima Pro or Gran Lattissima, both have 40 oz water tank capacity.
Nespresso Lattissima One pods— All Nespresso capsules
I brewed my drink with OriginalLine Nespresso pods, it was quite an amazing experience, and the quality, texture, body, and taste of the drink were beyond anything. I also tried 3rd-party Nespresso capsules, and the machine delivered the same sumptuous drink as delivered with Nespresso pods. Unfortunately, Lattissima One does not work with VertuoLine pods and Starbucks by Nespresso Vertuo Pods. If you want to brew long coffees with VertuoLine pods, search out one of the VertuoLine machines.

Nespresso Lattissima One Recipes— Four One-Touch Drinks
Lattissima One comes with three programmable buttons. When I pressed the first button, it delivered a splendid espresso shot with incomparable dense crema. It delivered me rich lungo shot as I pressed the second button (lungo button). I enjoyed brewing with this machine as everything is automatic. I did not have to monitor or wait for the process to be completed. I just press the button, and the machine does the rest independently. I also tested its last button/milk button, designed for milk-based beverages. I insert the pod, fill the milk receptacle with fresh milk (it will use all the milk in the milk system to brew only one cup), and adjust the frother over the cup or milk jug; then, I press the third button/milk button, and the machine delivers my desired drink within 40 seconds.
However, these settings are programmable, and you can adjust the drink recipes according to your need, and the machine will remember these settings for the future brew. If you want to enter the programmable mode, press and hold the lungo or cappuccino button for 3 seconds and release them when the desired volume is achieved. For the original drink volume, reset the machine to factory settings.
How I Made Latte Macchiato And Other Milk Beverages With Lattissima One?
Lattissima One is a single-serve machine with a small 4oz milk receptacle, so it will use all the milk in the milk pitcher to make one cup of milk drink. Its single-serve milk jug and one-touch milk system allow you to brew latte, cappuccino, etc., in just 40 seconds. When I brewed latte macchiato with it, it was quite an interesting experience. Its milk jug has two marks; one indicates the quantity you need to brew latte macchiato, and the other indicates the milk quantity needed to brew cappuccino. So, I filled the milk jug to the mark best needed for latte macchiato, placed the pod in a capsule container, closed the lever, and pressed the third or milk button. The machine froths the milk into the coffee cup and delivers me a splendid drink.
Cleaning— Quick and Simple
In all other machines, cleaning is a big hassle, and I did not like doing that. But Lattissima One offers me quick and easy cleaning as all parts are dishwasher safe. I disassembled all the parts, such as the removable water reservoir, milk jug, and milk receptacle, and washed them with soapy hot water. According to the instructions in the user manual, I cleaned the machine’s exterior with a damp cloth. In just a few minutes, my machine is ready to go. I found little trouble in the cleaning of the Rapid cappuccino system. Nespresso also recommended cleaning the machine regularly to increase its lifespan to 10 years. Nespresso Lattissima One Descaling— Descaling Alert & Intuitive descaling system
Lattissima One comes with the descaling alert, and the steps include;
- Empty the capsule container and drip tray.
- Fill the water reservoir with a descaling solution.
- Plug the descaling pipe into the steam connector; it will activate the descaling mode.
- After the descaling process, run the rinsing cycle efficiently.

Lattissima One Shortcomings
- I have to disassemble and rinse the milk system after every use to keep the machine in a good position. This thing is quite annoying.
- It has a small 4 oz milk receptacle that only brews one perfect latte at a time. So, I can’t brew two cups at once when any guest comes.
Warranty— 2 years
Lattissima One comes with a warranty of two years. During that period, Nespresso solves all troubleshooting problems and offers necessary replacements and repairs free of cost. Nespresso also offers you free standard shipping of a loaner device while your machine is being repaired. If you clean the machine regularly or descale it at its preferred time, its lifespan can increase to 5 to 10 years.
Most coffee lovers try to recover small flaws on their own, but this act can affect your machine’s working. I recommend you contact Nespresso customer service (at 800-562-1465 for OriginalLine or 877-964-6299 for VertuoLine) to keep your machine in a good working position.

I bought this machine from Amazon, which is quite a trustworthy and reliable site. I found the Lattissima One a quite affordable machine. It is hard to beat as it offers vital features, settings, one-touch drinks, and compact design at a low cost, i.e., $378 on Amazon.
