“A bad day with coffee is better than a good day without it.” Do you need a jumpstart in the morning? You’re not the only one! Most people need a little pep via a strong cup of joe. Nespresso Stormio Boost is a strong caffeinated pod and delivers you that intense coffee cup without stepping into the coffee shop.
There are also Starbucks Nespresso coffee pods, but when compared, I found Nespresso coffee the best. Starbucks coffee does not have dense crema and tastes more bitter and burnt. In contrast, Nespresso delivers good coffee cups without any harsh notes. Scroll down and find out the details of one of the great Nespresso pods, i.e., Stormio Boost.
The Bottom Line
With 20% more caffeine, Nespresso Stormio Boost makes your morning perfect with strong spicy, woody, and earthy notes. The blend of dark roasted Central American Arabicas adds a robust aroma with just a hint of acidity and delivers smooth and intense coffees. Nespresso Stromio also has the same flavor and intensity level, but you can prefer Stormio Boost if you want a coffee with an added boost (20% more caffeine). Like Stormio Boost (dark roast coffee), Melozio Boost has 20% extra caffeine but delivers light and sweet coffee cup.
Nespresso Stormio Boost Taste Test
I ordered my Nespresso Stormio Boost pods from Amazon. When I unboxed my boost pods, the dark green color looked nice. There was a Starbucks design on the top of the capsule, and the capsule is labeled on the back. I brewed it with the Nespresso VertuoPlus coffee machine as it is a Vertuo pod. It smelled excellent. The drink had a dark black color and dense crema, indicating that its intensity was 8. When I tasted it, the drink was pretty good. The strong spicy, woody notes touched my palate and hinted at Central American Arabicas. I felt a bit of bitterness on the tip of my tongue. The bitterness stayed for a long time and made my drink linger.
I added some milk to it, the spicy notes fainted, and the woody notes became dominant. However, in both cases, the drink’s aroma, flavor, and texture were the same, indicating Stormio Boost stood against the milk very well.
Like a regular blend of Stormio, Stormio Boost, enhanced with natural coffee extracts, is incompatible with Original machines. It delivers strong, intense, dark Arabica coffee cups and is best for those who start their day with strong long coffees. Like Stormio Boost, Melozio Boost capsules have 20% extra caffeine but deliver smooth, light, and sweet coffee cups due to the lighter roasting of Brazilian Bourbon and Latin American Arabicas.
Nespresso Stormio Boost Features
Below are the main features of Nespresso Stormio Boost; these features tell us why Stormio Boost differs from all other Vertuo Nespresso pods. These attributes also make us understand when we should brew this great pod. So keep scrolling down to find out the details of its features.
Origin — Central American Arabicas
Nespresso Stormio Boost, enhanced with natural coffee extracts, is a blend of Nicaraguan and Guatemalan Arabica beans. The blend of these gathers strong spicy notes in your coffee cup. While in Melozio Boost, the Latin American Arabicas and Brazilian Bourbon add extra caffeine, great taste, low intensity, and honeyed sweetness.
Roasting Level — 4 out of 5
In Stormio Boost, Central American Arabicas undergo coarse grinding and maintain their body. These coarse grounds of these beans undergo dark and slow roasting, which balances intensity and enhances woody notes. These coffees get the same split roast as Brazilian Bourbon beans in Melozio.
Aroma — Strong and Rich
When I brewed Stormio Boost with my coffee machine, its robust and lively aromatic profile filled the room. It smelled wonderful, and no doubt, it was a good coffee mug. I got closer and smelled it again. The rich, spicy notes entered my nose and swung my mood. On the other hand, the classic cereal note, delicate aroma, and honeyed sweetness of split roast Melozio Boost also impressed you a lot.
Acidity — 1 out of 5
I did not feel much acidity in Stormio Boost coffee. Its acidity is balanced with sweet and pleasant notes, enhancing the coffee taste experience.
Bitterness — 4 out of 5
My Stormio Boost smooth coffee was bitter. When I drank it, the bitter notes touched the tip of my tongue and stayed for a long time. It is best for those coffee lovers who drink bitter coffee in the morning.
Body — 4 out of 5
When I drank my Stormio Boost smooth coffee with my coffee machine, I found it heavy, complex, full-bodied, and smooth. The light and long roasting of Central American Arabicas balance its body till the end and bring thick crema on the top of the drink. The smooth texture allows you to drink the whole cup in no time.
Flavor — Woody, Earthy, And Cereal notes
The Stormio Boost Arabica coffee cup is full of complex flavors. When I took my first sip, the spicy notes touched my palate. The woody and Earthy notes danced on my palate when I took my second sip. I felt the drying effect on the sides of my mouth and the bitter notes touching my tongue’s tip while Melozio Boost has strong cocoa notes. I took sip after sip and drank the whole mug of Stormio Boost in no time.
Intensity Level — 8 out of 14
Stormio Boost delivers strong and intense coffee cups, enough to win hearts. The dark roasted Central American Arabicas evoke spicy notes, bring dark color, and intensify cereal aroma. No doubt, it was a strong coffee cup.
Caffeine content — 170-200 mg
Nespresso pods may have more or less caffeine but they always fulfill your caffeine needs. Nespresso coffee pods contain about 200 mg of caffeine and deliver intense and strong coffee cups. Stormio Boost is a Vertuo coffee pod with 170-200 mg caffeine content. It gives you an extra boost as it contains 20% extra caffeine than the regular blend of Stormio pod. The Central American Arabica beans are infused with caffeine extract to raise the total caffeine content. The fantasy about Stormio Boost is that high caffeine content does not make it harsh. In the same way, the Latin American Arabicas are given an added boost in Melozio Boost.
Finish — Smooth and Bitter
My Stormio Boost’s great taste coffee gave me a spicy and bitter taste. The spicy and bitter notes stayed for a long time. My Boost coffee was smooth and lingering. Overall the drink was good, and I still remember its lively aroma, smooth texture, coffee crema, and pungent notes. No doubt, Nespresso Stormio Boost always delivers you a fantastic coffee mug and makes your morning fabulous. On the other hand, the classic cereal note, delicate aroma, and honeyed sweetness of split roast Melozio Boost also impressed you a lot.
How is extra caffeine added to barista creations Stormio Boost?
Below are the four steps that indicate how Stormio boost is extra caffeinated.
- Decaffeinated Coffee Beans (decaffeination process)
The caffeine content is transferred out from the unroasted coffee beans. These beans are stored and used to create decaf coffee.
- Save Extracted Caffeine
The isolated/extracted caffeine is stored in the Stormio Boost blend for green coffee.
- Steam-Treat Boost Coffee Beans
The green coffee beans stored for the Stormio Boost blend are given a steam treatment. This treatment allows the entry of caffeine molecules into the unroasted beans.
- Infuse The Boost Coffee Beans With Caffeine Extract
