Master Origin Indonesia Dark-Roast Coffee Pod Taste Test

I unboxed the box of my Indonesia capsules, and its shiny blue color was quite an eye soothing. I brewed it with my Nespresso Creatista Pro machine. My coffee had a dark color and a strong and earthy aroma. The pleasant sensation hit me as I put it to my lips, and the woody and smoky notes were pronounced. After some time, the juicy acidity overpowered each flavor and made my coffee more enjoyable. Despite its bold taste, the coffee swirled down my throat smoothly, and a slightly bitter taste lingered for a while.

My Indonesian coffee was full-bodied and gave me a pleasant mouthfeel. The drink became more smooth when I brewed a lungo shot with this capsule. The subtle acidity and light woody flavor amazed me. As I brewed cappuccino, I found that the milk balanced its profile and mellowed the bold notes. The creamy smooth texture soothed my mouth and made my cup enjoyable.

The thing I liked most in the Indonesia capsule was its prominent flavors which were lacking in most Nespresso capsules. It is better to brew this Master Origin Coffee for morning breaks and pair it with dark chocolate or other sweet food to balance its flavor profile.

These Nespresso OriginalLine pods from the Master Origin range are incompatible with VertuoLine machines and offer a 1.35 oz serving of a traditional espresso coffee beverage. They also allow you to brew a 3.7 oz lungo shot. Create recipes or brew this pod with/without milk; these capsules will always amaze you.

Nespresso OriginalLine Indonesia Dark-Roast Coffee Capsule Features — An In-Depth Insight

Here are the main characteristics of the Master Origin Indonesia capsule. These features will help you discover why this OriginalLine capsule differs from all other Nespresso capsules, when you should brew this dark-roast coffee, whether it is best for you, and much more. Let’s indulge in these attributes.

Origin — Indonesian Arabica Beans

Nespresso Original-Line Indonesia is a blend of wet-hulled Indonesian Arabica beans from Sumatra. These beans are a race against the rain. Sumatran farmers wet-hull their coffees due to the humid climate. When the coffee becomes soft and moist, they remove the parchment as exposed beans dry faster. This unique method produces a classic Indonesian taste, i.e. velvety thick and wildly aromatic notes of cured tobacco.

Roast Level — 4 out of 5

In this Nespresso coffee blend, the beans get a split roast. The medium and slightly shorter roast adds great complexity and aromatic notes to your cup.

Aroma — Woody And Earthy

When I brewed Master Origin Indonesia dark-roast coffee pod, I got a pleasantly earthy, woody, and toasted aroma. This scent reminded me of butter toast and made my mood pleasant. These Nespresso pods from the Master Origin range offer a 1.35 oz/3.7 oz serving of a traditional espresso coffee beverage.

Acidity — 2 out of 5

My Indonesian dark-roast coffee had juicy acidity. This feature made my cup more enjoyable. The low acidic notes masked the other flavors after some time and surprised me.

My Indonesian dark-roast coffee was full-bodied, leaving a powerful sensation in my mouth. It left thickness and swirled down easily through my throat due to its smooth texture.

Flavor — Tobacco Leaves, Intense, Cereal, And Woody Notes

Nespresso Original-Line Indonesia offered me a complex cup with roasted notes. The woody and smoky notes graced my palate and excited my nerves. The bitter notes reminiscent of tobacco and grapefruit surprised me. This taste profile reminded me of an outdoor environment. Great coffee and unique flavor!
