Spread the love

Nespresso Costa Rica is a Vertuo pod that allows you to brew many recipes at home. We have brewed and tested gran lungo Costa Rica. Here is our honest review.

The Bottom Line

With intensity 7, Costa Rica delivers a full-bodied coffee cup. It is a blend of Costa Rica’s Central Highlands Arabica beans. This blend graces your palate with nutty notes and soothes your nose with sweet cereal notes.

Costa Rica is widely available in stock. I bought these Nespresso capsules from Amazon, a reliable online store. It offers good shipping and return policy and delivers you a pack of 10 Costa Rica coffee pods.

What is Nespresso Costa Rica?

The Nespresso brand offers Costa Rica for OriginalLine and VertuoLine models. Costa Rica Vertuo and Original originated from Costa Rica Arabica beans, but Costa Rica Vertuo delivered full-bodied drinks with nutty notes. However, Costa Rica original delivers creamy beverages with malty sweet cereal character.

What Does Vertuo Costa Rica Nespresso Taste Like?

I brewed gran lungo, Americano, and milk beverages with a Costa Rica pod. In all cases, it surprised me and delivered me fabulous drinks. It allowed me to jumpstart my day with a clear head.

Nespresso Gran Lungo Costa Rica Taste Test

The Nespresso Costa Rica pod looked like Nespresso Odacio as it has the same blue color. The pod was labeled at the bottom. It is a Vertuo pod, so I brewed it with a Nespresso VertuoLine machine. Once the brewing was done, it smelled wonderful. I felt cereal and an earthy scent; its color hinted at 7 intensity. When I tasted it, the initial taste was pretty good. The cereal and mellow notes were coming through it. I also felt a bit of bitterness on my tongue. The smell and flavor were very pleasant. I also got a drying effect on the sides of my mouth, which is interesting. I found it heavy on my tongue, like syrupy. I thought it was the best way that I could describe it. The drink was heavy and had dense crema; the malty bitterness stayed for a long time and made the drink linger.

I brewed Americano; I heated the 2.5 oz filtered water and added it to the Costa Rica coffee. I tasted it and found it a good coffee cup. It had tapered bitterness, a heavy body, dense crema, and a pleasant taste. I also tried it with milk; I frothed the 3 oz milk in Aeroccino and added it to the brewed Costa Rica drink. I saw a separate thin layer and guessed maybe it had some oil in it. I felt a mellow and bitter taste on my tongue when I tasted it. I also got cereal, not on my palate, and the drying feeling returned. The cereal notes were dominant, but the mellow taste stayed long.

Overall, the flavor, aroma, and drink quality of Costa Rica was pretty good. It is the perfect morning coffee and makes your day better.

How Is Nespresso Costa Rica Coffee Originated?

Only a small selection of Arabica coffee beans from Costa Rica’s mountains are soaked in rainforest hot spring waters. The thermal waters are brought down to the wet mill, their temperature dropping over 12 hours from 70˙C to 18˙C. As the waters cool, the pulped coffee soaks in the mineral-rich water. The warmer water speeds up the fermentation and brings out this rare coffee’s finest characteristics. The rare process of fermentation in the hot-spring waters brings a remarkably balanced and clean taste to the cup.

Nespresso Vertuo Costa Rica, Rare coffee’s finest characteristics

I have focused on 10 major attributes of the master-origin Costa Rica Vertuo pod. These features differentiate Costa Rica from all other Nespresso pods. These aspects give detailed knowledge about Costa Rica and make us understand when we should brew this pod. Let’s study its features in detail.

Origin — Arabica coffee beans

Nespresso brand Costa Rica pod is a blend of Costa Rica’s Central Highlands Arabica beans. This blend delivers a full-bodied cup of coffee and graces your palate with sweet malty notes.

Roasting Level — 4 out of 5

In Nespresso gran lungo Costa Rica, the single origin Arabica beans are roasted in two batches. The first batch is roasted medium to dark at medium temperature, bringing a malty sweet cereal note to the coffee. The other batch is roasted lightly; it gives dark color and balanced intensity till the last sip.

Aroma — Nutty And Balanced

The pleasant aroma wafted through the air while brewing my Nespresso master-origin Costa Rica pod. The earthy aroma filled the room and soothed my mind. When I got closer and again smelled it, I felt a pleasant nutty aroma. When I added milk, I felt a mellow scent. Overall, it has a pleasant aroma and makes your day better.

Acidity — 1 out of 5

In the Nespresso Costa Rica Vertuo pod, I did not find acidity. The drink was neither acrid nor sour. It had a mild tang-like acidity. The baggy and bright notes danced on my palate, and I enjoyed the drink greatly.

Bitterness — 3 out of 5

Nespresso gran lungo Costa Rica has much bitterness, and this thing attracts the most coffee lovers. I also like bitter coffee, so it was best for me. The bitterness touched my tongue when I took a sip and stayed for a long time.

Body — 3 out of 5

Nespresso Costa Rica Vertuo pod delivered me a cup that is a bouquet of various coffees. I experienced a new flavor in each sip. When I took the first sip, I felt sweet malty notes, but the mellow, clean, and balanced notes hit my palate in another sip. When I tried it with milk, the sweet cereal notes ran through it with crystal clarity. Overall, the flavor of Costa Rica was light and pleasant.

Finish — Bitterness and Bright notes

When I brewed gran lungo in Costa Rica, I felt a bit of bitterness on my tongue, and it stayed for a long time. The drink was smooth and lingering. The sweet, malty, bright notes stayed on my tongue when I added milk. In both cases, the finish was satisfying. My morning is incomplete without Costa Rica coffee, and this is the pod that urges you to demand cup after cup.
