Problem 1: Why Is There No Light On The Button Of My Nespresso Evoluo?

Are you having trouble operating your Nespresso Evoluo? It might be frustrating when you hit the power button in a hurry to turn it on as you are running late for work, but the button refuses to light up. If you are facing this issue of no light on the button, don’t worry. I will walk you through the troubleshooting process and show you how to resolve this issue. I have mentioned the causes of the no light on the button, let’s dive into this issue and the potential solutions to fix this issue and turn on the machine.

Cause 1: Machine Switched Off Automatically

The machine has switched off automatically because it has entered the power saving mode.

How To Fix It

Push the power button to switch on your machine and move the lever to the left to unlock the machine.

Cause 2: Problem With Socket

The electric socket is not running correctly.

How To Fix It

Check the power source. If your socket is not functioning correctly, connect your machine to another socket at your place.

Cause 3: Incorrect Plugin

You have not plugged your machine correctly into the socket.

How To Fix It

Check your machine is correctly plugged into the socket. If not, remove the power cable and firmly plug it into the socket again, and you must provide the appropriate amount of electricity to your machine to start its operation.

Cause 4: Difference Of Voltage

The voltage supply in the socket is not the same as that in your machine. Due to the voltage difference, fluctuation can occur and affect the performance of your coffee machine.

How To Fix It

Ensure that the voltage of the socket is suitable for your machine. If there is a difference between socket voltage and machine voltage, it will cause instability of the internal voltages of the machine. Thus, it affects the performance of your machine.

Cause 5: Blown Fuse

The fuse of the machine has blown.

How To Fix It

Remove the cable from the socket. Open the machine and check the fuse of your coffee machine. If the light on the button is not turning on, it’s probably because the fuse has blown.

Problem 2: Why Is No Coffee, No Water Flowing Out Of My Nespresso Evoluo?

Does your Nespresso Evoluo refuse to pour coffee and water? It means you haven’t gotten your daily dose of caffeine, which is terrible. Nothing is more disappointing than passing a day without coffee, especially when you are not getting the cause of this problem. But don’t give up on your coffee machine. I will guide you about the causes behind this issue and how you can fix it, so that you can savor your favorite delicious coffee again. There are various reasons which can lead to this issue. Also, I have provided easy-to-follow solutions to get your machine working again. Let’s get into this.

Cause 1: Empty Water Tank

The process of coffee making starts with water, and sometimes we forget to fill the water tank.

How To Fix It

Look into the water tank to check the water level. If it is empty, add fresh drinking water to the tank, then put it back on the machine.

Cause 2: Mispositioned Capsule

If the capsule is not in the correct position in the capsule holder. Your Nespresso Evoluo cannot detect a capsule to start brewing.

How To Fix It

Check the position of the capsule by opening the machine head. If the capsule is not in the correct position, take it out and insert it again with a dome-shaped at the bottom.

Cause 3: Lever Is Unlocked

The lever is not in a locked position. Your coffee machine will only start brewing a coffee if it is locked.

How To Fix It

Move the lever to the left where the lock symbol is present to lock the machine.

Cause 4: Mineral Deposition

If your Nespresso Evoluo is not dispensing coffee or water, it might be because of the mineral deposits in the pipes of your machine, which restrict the coffee flow.

Maybe you are unaware of mineral deposits, So I thought I should explain what they are and how they develop inside your Nespresso Evoluo. It all starts with water; as we know, we can’t brew coffee without water, so you should be cautious about what kind of water you use in your coffee maker.

Suppose you are using tap water with high mineral content; it will cause the formation of mineral deposits and limescale in your coffee machine. How? When water starts heating up during brewing, minerals like calcium and magnesium precipitate and form mineral deposits inside your machine. If these mineral deposits are left uncleaned, they can create severe problems for your machine, such as blockage of pipes, and can affect the coffee and water flow.

How To Fix It

  • One of the easiest ways to remove these mineral deposits is by descaling. If you bought this machine and haven’t descaled it since then, descale it because it removes mineral deposits and enhances the efficiency of your machine.

Descaling Instructions

Switch on the machine by pressing the power button. Light will blink until the machine heats up and becomes steady as the machine is ready.

  1. Open the machine head and allow the ejection of the used capsule.
  2. Close the machine head and lock the machine by moving the lever to the left.
  3. Empty the used capsule container and the cup support.
  4. Now enter the descaling mode. Press the power button and hold it for seven seconds.
  5. The light will start flashing for 45 seconds. Follow the next step within 45 seconds to continue the descaling process. Otherwise, the machine will automatically exit the descaling mode.
  6. If you have mistakenly exited the descaling mode, you need to enter the descaling mode again. Follow the next step to enter the descaling mode.
  7. Lock the machine by turning the lever to the left and unlock it by turning to the right.
  8. Press the button and hold it for seven seconds.
  9. Place a container under the coffee outlet and lock the machine.
  10. Now start descaling by pressing the button. When the descaling process ends, the machine will automatically stop working.
  11. Empty the cup support and water tank, then rinse them thoroughly.
  12. Add water to the water tank and put it back on the machine.
  13. Press the button to rinse the machine. When rinsing is complete, the machine will automatically stop working.
  14. Now, exit the descaling mode. Press and hold the power button for seven seconds.

Light will flash until the machine exits the descaling mode.

  1. The descaling process ends here. Allow the machine to dry for ten minutes then your machine is ready for use again.
  • Open the machine head, allow the ejection of the capsule and clean your machine. You should clean a coffee maker daily to extend its life span by eliminating the stuck coffee residues and preventing the formation of mineral buildup. If you follow the cleaning cycle at the end of the day, you will never face the issue of no coffee or water. I assume you already know how to clean; if not, scroll down and read the procedure for cleaning your Nespresso Evoluo.

Cleaning Instructions

  1. Rinse the water tank. Add fresh drinking water and place it back on the machine.
  2. Place a container of 13.5 oz./0.4 l beneath the coffee outlet.
  3. Open the machine head and let the used capsule eject into the container.
  4. Close the head of the machine and lock it by turning the lever to the left.
  5. Press the power button three times. The light will blink, and water will pour from the coffee outlet within two minutes.
  6. It takes five minutes to finish the entire cleaning operation, which consists of three cycles of pumping water. If you want to discontinue the cleaning process, press the button, and the light will stop flashing and become steady. If you want to continue cleaning, press the power button again.
  7. The machine will be ready to brew coffee after the cleaning process.
  8. Open the machine head, insert a capsule, close the head, lock it properly, and press the power button to start.

Problem 3: Why Is My Coffee In Nespresso Evoluo Not Hot Enough?

Being a true coffee lover, I fully understand the importance of having a hot coffee in the morning. If your Nespresso Evoluo is preparing a coffee that is not hot enough to satisfy your buds, the disappointment sets in from here. But don’t worry; I am here to end your disappointment about not getting a hot cup of coffee. Let’s start troubleshooting this issue so you no longer have to compromise on your taste. The following are the causes of why your freshly prepared coffee is not perfectly hot.

Cause 1: Heat Transfer To Cup

When freshly brewed coffee pours into your cup, the warmth of your coffee decreases due to heat transfer. That is why you are not getting a hot cup of coffee from your Nespresso Evoluo.

How To Fix It

You can fix this issue by preheating your cup. It can help you keep the temperature of your coffee at the same level as it is brewed in the coffee machine. You can preheat your cup in the following ways:

  1. Fill the cup with hot water from the tap, give it a few seconds, and let the hot water warm up your cup. Drain the water into the sink and use the warm cup to make your coffee right away.
  2. You can preheat your cup by just rinsing it with hot boiling water.

Cause 2: Damaged Heating Element

The most common cause behind this issue of why your Nespresso Evoluo is producing less hot coffee is the damaged heating element of your machine. It happens because of the high mineral content in water, which over time produces mineral deposits, clogs the pipes, and impairs the heating element of your machine. As a result, it prevents the machine from reaching the ideal temperature for brewing.

How To Fix It

You need to descale your machine to clear the clogged pipes and mineral deposits from your machine. Descaling is a crucial part of your journey with your coffee machine as it helps maintain the optimal performance of your machine. For details of descaling see the section “Desacaling instruction” under the “Problem 2 (Cause 4)”.

Problem 4: Why Is My Nespresso Evoluo Not Working But Has A Light Steady On

Does your Nespresso Evoluo have a steady light on the power button, but it is not working? It can be annoying, especially when you are desperate for some coffee. If you are facing this problem, don’t lose hope; instead, check out this guide to learn how you can fix this problem. I have figured out the causes and the solutions behind this issue of non-functional Nespresso Evoluo with a steady light. Let’s troubleshoot this issue and get your machine operating again.

Cause 1: Lever Is Unlocked

If the lever is not in a locked position, the machine cannot start functioning.

How To Fix It

Check the lever position; if it is on the right side, it shows the machine is not locked. Move the lever to the left where the lock symbol is present, and press the button to start.

Cause 2: Damaged/Mispositioned Capsule

The capsule is not in the correct position, or the capsule is damaged. The capsule must be correctly placed in the holder for the machine to operate.

How To Fix It

Open the machine head, check the capsule’s position, and place it correctly with a dome-shaped facing downward. Also, ensure you have removed the used capsule and inserted a new one to brew your coffee.

Cause 3: Capsule Inserted While Cleaning

Suppose a capsule is in the holder during the cleaning, descaling, or emptying process. In that case, the system does not allow the machine to start any operations since a capsule is not required during the cleaning, descaling, or emptying of your machine.

How To Fix It

Before you run a cleaning cycle, ensure the capsule holder is empty. Sometimes we forget to remove the used capsule after preparing a coffee, as we are human and can make mistakes. So, open the machine head and allow the ejection of the used capsule. Then, close the machine head firmly, lock it properly, and press the button, and your machine will start operating in a while.

Problem 5: Why Is My Nespresso Evoluo Not Working But Light Is Blinking Alternately, One Blink And One Pause

Are you waiting for the Nespresso Evoluo to start its operation, but it is only blinking alternately? It seems like your coffee machine is giving you a signal. And a blinking light is a means of communication between you and your coffee machine. So, If you cannot identify the message behind this alternate blinking of light, don’t worry; I will help you figure out the message. The following are the most relevant reasons for alternate blinking of light, and their possible fixes are also mentioned below. Let’s check them out.

Cause 1: Empty Water Tank

If the light blinks alternately, your machine is giving you an empty water tank alert.

How To Fix It

Check the water level in the water. If the water tank is empty, fill it with fresh drinking water and position it correctly on the machine.

Cause 2: Unlocked Lever

The lever is not in a locked position. The machine needs to be appropriately locked to start its operation.

How To Fix It

Check the position of the lever and turn it to the left to lock the machine.

Problem 6: Why Is My Nespresso Evoluo Blinking While Running

Are you observing a flashing light while your Nespresso Evoluo is working? And you are wondering why it is happening and whether it is normal. Wait for a second, there is no need to worry, and you don’t have to look further. I am here to help you understand why your machine is flashing while preparing your coffee. The following are the causes behind the flashing lights. So, let’s jump right into the causes behind the flashing light and fix this issue.

Cause 1: In-Progressed Brewing

When you observe the blinking light on your Nespresso Lattissima Touch and coffee flows out of the coffee outlet normally, it shows that brewing is in progress.

How To Fix It

It indicates your machine is operating correctly. There is nothing to fix this issue, you just have to wait for your cup to get filled with your coffee.

Cause 2: Descaling Is In-Process

If the coffee outlet is pouring water, it shows the descaling is in progress. But if you notice the light doesn’t stop blinking even after the cleaning is completed, it shows the machine is stuck in descaling mode.

How To Fix It

You need to exit the descaling mode. Press the button and hold it for seven seconds; the light will stop blinking and become steady, indicating the machine has exited the descaling mode. Also, if there is no intention to clean, descale or empty the system, press the button to stop the process.

Problem 7: Why Is My Nespresso Evoluo Flashing But Not Running

When you press the button to brew your coffee, it does not start working and flashes continuously. I know a nonfunctional coffee maker will surely make you unhappy. If you are experiencing this issue with your Nespresso Evoluo, there might be some problem with your machine. Every situation has a cause behind it, and in this guide, you will find the possible causes along with their fixes. Here are the causes you need to know so you can work on them and fix your Nespresso Evoluo.

Cause 1: Machine Is Heating Up

If the light is flashing, but the machine does not start working, it might be because the machine is heating up to brew your coffee.

How To Fix It

Wait for a while as the machine takes some time to detect and read the capsule’s barcode. As the machine heats up, the light stops flashing and becomes steady. If the light does not become steady, you should go for other solutions to fix this issue.

Cause 2: Mispositioned Capsule

Incorrect positioning of the capsule can also cause the light to flash continuously.

How To Fix It

Open the machine head to check the capsule’s position in the capsule holder. If the capsule is not in the correct position, take it out and place it again with a dome shape facing downward. Also, ensure that you have inserted a new capsule. Then close the machine head and lock the machine.

Cause 3: Low Water Level

The water level is low in the water tank, or the tank is empty.

How To Fix It

  • Check the water tank and fill it with fresh drinking water.

If the light doesn’t stop flashing, even though you have followed the above-mentioned steps, check out the other thing you can do to solve this problem.

  • Hold the power button for three seconds, and the machine will switch off. Then press the button again to switch on the machine. Allow the machine to cool down after extensive use.
  • If the machine does not switch off, it indicates it is stuck in descaling mode. Then exit the descaling mode by holding the power button for seven seconds.

When the water tank is not in the correct position, some water may leak out, and less water will be available for brewing, which could lead to an uneven coffee flow.

How To Fix It

You need to readjust the water tank. Take out the water tank from the machine and position it correctly on the right side of the machine.

Problem 11: Why Is My Nespresso Evoluo Turn Off Automatically?

But don’t let the false thought creep in because I am here to clear your confusion and tell you the cause behind this sudden shutdown. There is no such serious cause for this issue, but a good reason instead. Let’s read the cause and the possible fix mentioned below.

How To Fix It:

  • Position the capsule correctly.
  • Make sure the capsule is not damaged.
