How To Fix A Nespresso Citiz And Milk Machine That Isn’t Pumping Water

If your Nespresso CitiZ and Milk is On and you are trying to make coffee but your machine is not pumping water. It means you accidentally ran the machine with an empty water tank and now there is an airlock inside the faucet. There are many ways to get the air out of the Nespresso CitiZ and Milk machine. You can adopt any method from the following.

Problem

Is your Nespresso CitiZ and Milk not pumping water, also is it making a humming sound?

This is an indication that your machine’s pipe is full of air. I have a solution to your problem. If you can’t do technical work, then try the first two methods as it is so easy.

Cause:

Sometimes the Nespresso CitiZ and Milk pump gets an air bubble in it. They block the flow of water through the spout. It usually happens when the machine runs without water in the water tank or has not been used for a long time.

Solution: 1 Raise And Lower The Water Tank.

  1. Fill the water tank with hot water.
  1. Press the large-size (Lungo) button.
  1. As soon as it starts, lift the water tank up and down.
  1. Keep going on until the Lungo button stops blinking.
  1. Press the Lungo button again and continue lifting the water tank.
  1. Repeat many times, as it creates enough pressure that the water begins to flow from the outlet.

Solution: 2 Prop Up the Water Tank.

  1. Add about 500 ml or ½ liter of water into the water tank.
  1. Press the Lungo button.
  1. Propped up the water tank, it makes an angle that will allow air bubbles to rise a little more easily.
  1. An orange piece of rubber that holds the water lifted up. When it is pushed towards the water tank, allows the water to pass to the container.
  1. It will create pressure and the water will flow from the outlet.
  1. When the water comes out, it’s all done.

Solution: 3 Pump With Zip Lock Bag

  1. Take a zip lock (air) bag and seal it tight. (As it holds air pressure, but doesn’t fill too much air).
  1. Pour a little amount of water into the water tank.
  1. Press the Lungo button.
  1. Push the bag in the water tank so it will create outward pressure in it and the water will flow from the outlet.

(Note: If you fill the bag with too much air and it won’t settle in the water tank, open it a little, let the air out, and re-lock it.).

Solution: 4 Blow the Gasket With Straw

  1. Fill the little water reservoir with 100 ml water.
  1. Take a straw or a tube.
  1. Put it over an orange gasket.
  2. Fill the tube with water by sucking it up.
  3. Turn On your machine.
  1. Blow air on the tube as hard as you can.
  2. You may need to repeat the process 2 to 3 times to apply pressure.
  3. Now you will see that there are bunches of bubbles appearing on the water in the water tank.
  4. The water then flows through the outlet.

Solution: 5  Pump With Lever

  1. Fill the water tank.
  1. Open the lever as far as it will go backwards.
  1. Now you will see the squirt of water inside the brewing unit, it actually releases air pockets.
  2. Now it’s all done.
